Putting a twist on the all-time classic the JS Nitro, the Psycho Nitro promises to bring more to the table at your summer party, whatever time of year it is. It now has a fuller nose, a slight vee through the tail and Jason's added foam under the chest to give you even more paddle power. The swallow tail gives the Psycho Nitro a lively rail-to-rail feeling and makes it real easy to surf.

All in all, this board is super quick, paddles ridiculously well and has pretty much everything you need for a cracking surf in small, junky, everyday waves.

Waves: You'll get the best perfomance on this board in 1-4 foot waves, but I've seen it being surfed in bigger hollower stuff as well.

Rocker: An overall low to flat rocker, which is the perfect all round combo for creating speed in small fun conditions.

Glassing Specs: Hyfi construction.

Concave: The Psycho Nitro features a slight rolled vee through nose, running into a single concave under the front foot through to a double concave forward of the fins with a slight vee out of the swallow tail. This design allows for easy manoeuvrability while still giving the board maximum lift and speed.

Rails: Full rails to avoid catching in slacker conditions.

Hyfi Technology - After two years of research and development between top engineers and some of the world's best riders and over 100 prototype combinations of templates and materials, the resulting Hyfi (Hybrid Fiber) is an exclusive multi layer construction comprising of a stringerless EPS core with a mesh exoskeleton. Lighter, faster and stronger, the Hyfi creates the perfect flex properties for maximum performance. Carbon is added in all the right places for strength and rigidity and something called Oletin Fibers in other areas that require more flex as well as strength.

Picking up a Hyfi, you will definitely notice how much lighter these are than your usual PU board. (20% by all accounts). It should be noted that this doesn't mean you go way lower in volume, thinking it's going to be a lot more bouyant. The guys at JS say not to change your board length at all, and stick with what you normally ride. You'll notice the Hyfi dims are approx 0.5ltr less than the PU dims to compensate.
Strength wise, Hyfi boards are reportedly 30% stronger than standard PU surfboards.
